New York Stores
Nolita Shop
247 Mulberry, New York City
A DARK HISTORY
Our Nolita store was once home to the infamous Ravenite Social Club, an Italian American social club that became the headquarters of the Gambino crime family. Carlo Gambino took control in the 1950s, and by the mid-1980s, John Gotti, the “Dapper Don,” had made it his headquarters. The reign ended in the early 1990s after the FBI infiltrated an apartment above the club and captured the conversations that helped bring Gotti down.
Today, the space belongs to Descendant of Thieves, a particular society of outsiders. Traces of its past remain in the original tiled floors, tin ceilings, and raven skeleton wallpaper.
The store also houses New York City’s oldest working espresso machine, a 1948 Gaggia featuring the patented lever-pull system that transformed espresso forever. Restored over three years using authentic Italian parts, it still pulls every shot by hand. This isn’t just espresso. It’s seventy years of history.
We are a clothing brand, not a social club. But damn if it doesn’t feel like one.
Bleecker Shop
203 Bleecker, New York City
The Descendant of Thieves Bleecker shop is located at an 1800's historic landmark building with ties to old-world independently owned storefronts. We choose this location because it embodies the rich and colorful history of NYC culture, commerce, and community. The brand now has a locale for the nonconformist individual who is part of a cult that rejects the mass market and aligns with craft, character, and individuality.
Love thy neighbor, but dammit, do not dress like them.
